Trifolium in Copenhagen’s Sydhavn

CONTEXT
Copenhagen’s Sydhavn is undergoing significant development and is a prime example of an area poised to become—and has partially already become—a trendsetter for sustainable urban development and creative placemaking.
TRIFOLIUM, Sydhavn’s innovative center for craftsmanship, circular production, and the sharing economy, aims to be a catalyst for the area’s development before the first homes are built and residents move in.
the task
VOLCANO has assisted Trifolium in developing a concept for the Sydhavn Symposium, a launch event designed to kickstart the area’s transformation by bringing together residents of Sydhavn and the rest of the city.
We curated and crafted the program for the Sydhavn Symposium over several months, involving local stakeholders, future area users, and leading figures in urban development.
results
The Sydhavn Symposium and the subsequent summer festival in Sydhavn were a great success. The day featured debates, presentations, entertainment, networking, themed breakout rooms, tours, communal dining, and conversation cafés, all aimed at putting Sydhavn on the map and sparking the city’s curiosity about a district ready for
new residents in a few years.
